Great Barrier Reef

We had an exciting day today!  After  breakfast, (This is our view at breakfast)

we took a catamaran to the Great Barrier Reefs and once we were there, we transferred to a pontoon that was stationed in the ocean.

There, we were given our snorkeling gear and hit the water.  We saw many beautiful, colorful fish and lots of coral reefs.  It was quite an experience. We DID not have underwater cameras, but here are some photos that were in an observatory….we also saw much more colorful fish!

We had a buffet lunch provided and afterwards went on a semi-submersible boat ride where we were able to look out windows and view more fish and reefs.  The colors were amazing.  We just relaxed on the approximately two hour ride back to the hotel.

At sunset, there was an influx of bats!  Our tour guide had told us about them, so we were out waiting for their arrival. Pictures were hard to take as they flew in so quickly and the lighting wasn’t very good.

Turning in early tonight in anticipation of another fun-filled day tomorrow.  Have a good night and God bless!
